This activity is not part of the membership, but is included so that seniors know this activity exists.
Every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 from mid-November to the third week in March between 40 and 60 curlers gather at 9:00 for friendly eight-end matches and post-game social time in the Nepean Sportsplex curling arena. Both brooms and delivery sticks are available. The delivery sticks are for players that prefer to deliver the rocks from a standing position. A number of our current players already use these sticks.
There are no fixed teams. New teams are made each day by the draw master to allow members to get to know as many fellow curlers as possible over the season. There are no consequences on others should you be unable to attend on any day. We encourage players to arrive 20 to 30 minutes before 9:00 am to allow the draw master sufficient time to make up the teams for that day.
There is a drop-in fee of $4.50 per day, on a pay as you play basis.
New players are welcome to join us at any time during the curling season. On the first Thursday of each new season, we hold an Open House to provide an opportunity for anyone interested in trying out curling. At this event, free lessons will be provided for anyone new to the game.
Curling is fun and the wide range of skills and ages participating shows you’re never too young or old to enjoy a friendly game of curling.
